Trail of Tears

Located at Oak Grove Cemetery in Stilwell, OK.
Jack Hog
c. 1828 - July 7, 1888

Sadly this stone is so weathered I had to do some digging to find out who it belonged to. But what I found on this stone is what really made me wonder who this was is this little plaque that is attached to the top of the stone.

In Honor of one who
 endured the forced removal
of the Cherokee in 1838-39.

  1. Wow! This REALLY touches my heart. I'm Cherokee and have never seen anything like this! Awesome!

  2. This is so sad. I am doing a report for national history day and they had gone through so much.
