Largest Zinc Monument I Have Ever Seen - Gregg Monument

This is one of the largest Zinc monuments I have ever seen.  It is atleast 15 to 20 feet tall.  It's in incredible shape.  The Zinc markers hold up to practically everything.  Sadly the overcast day makes the coloring on this marker look more gray but it is actually a grey green color.

Death Head Angel

I call these "Death Head Angels" because I am not sure what the are really called and haven't been able to find a name for them. (If you know please leave me a comment and tell me what they are called.) This is one of the few really detailed ones I have found in my area.

I learn something new every day.

(Located at Fairview Memorial Garden Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR)

The following info came from a contributor (Chris) at Find-A-Grave.

Surname: Lin
Given name: Chun-Kang
From Fushan County, Shandong Province, China.
Birth and death dates are evident.
His wife's info is written in red, which indicates she is still living.

I did not know that the red indicated that the person was still living. Nice to know.

Another Cemetery Being Lost

This is part of Walker Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR located across the road from the Confederate Cemetery. They have clean part up but have not even bothered with this part.  And it Appears that people have been dumping cut limbs in on top of the markers.  Such a sad thing. You can see some large monuments in it, you can see one in this photo.  And the nice fence work can be seen as well.

Spider Web? How Odd...

Spider web? I found this to be an odd thing to place on a stone.

(Located at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayettville, AR)

Then I did a little research and it explained everthing. So it never hurts to Google the name.

Soaring Like An Eagle - The Interesting, The Odd, The Beautiful...For the Graveyard Rabbit Carnival

I spotted this unique marker from the entrance of Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR.  Immediately,  I headed in its direction just to see what it was.  I was pleasantly surprised to find this beautiful tribute tucked in between two very average stones as if it belonged in all its glorious splender.

I hope the family will continue to maintain this beautiful piece. I fear it will be lost to the elements in a short amount of time. I believe it to be handcarved from wood.

Ridley Family Group

I really like this group of stones. If you look closely at the writing you will notice several misspelled words, reversed letters and a mixture of capital and lower case letters.  This is not unusual for the time frame that these were created. Hope you enjoy them. (All thre are located at Combs Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR)
