Ha! Found info via Google Books:
ReplyDeleteThe evidence for the State tended to show that appellant on the 6th day of September, 1908, shot and killed one J. W. Murry from ambush. It was shown that Murry a few w eeks prior to the killing had accused appellant of stealing watermelons, had cursed appellant, calling him vile names, and had threatened to kill appellant; that this abuse filled appellant with rancor, which on the day of the killing caused him to say that he was going to "get his gun and make him take it back or kill him." There were circumstances tending to show that appellant while lying in wait killed Murry as he passed along the highway.

Back in the early 1990's two of my elderly neighbors were fighting over a garden hose. One hit the other with a shovel and so the guy that got hit went and got his shot gun, nearly blowing the other guys leg off. Just goes to show that people still do stupid stuff.
ReplyDeleteWay to go "Pugs" :)
