He married before 1864 Adelaide Brady b. 1844 d. 17 Feb 1877, (Buried at Greenleaf) daughter of Samuel Brady and Mary Wilkerson. They had the following children: Mary Ellen b. 02 Sep 1864 d. 20 Apr 1894; William Gano b. 26 Feb 1866 d. 25 Mar 1883; Martha b. 1868 d. 1883; and Adelaide Belle Brewer b. 12 Mar 1870 d 04 Dec 1891.
